It is a wonderful movie, and the wedding dress she wears in the movie (I believe it was designed by Givenchy…) is absolutely enchanting! I have tried my best to capture the elegance and ballerina-like quality of it here.

Hmm…In fact, I am long overdue for an Audrey-Hepburn-a-thon weekend ;)

“Le Petit Prince” Calligraphy Commission

Recently, I was asked to write out a passage from one of my favourite books, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry‘s “Le Petit Prince”… in Portuguese!!!

Here is some of my “warmin’ up the pen” & layout work for the project:

Ma vie est monotone. Je chasse les poules, les hommes me chassent. Toutes les poules se ressemblent, et tous les hommes se ressemblent. Je m’ennuie donc un peu. Mais, si tu m’apprivoises, ma vie sera comme ensoleillée. Je connaîtrai un bruit de pas qui sera différent de tous les autres. Les autres pas me font rentrer sous terre. Le tien m’appellera hors du terrier, comme une musique. Et puis regarde ! Tu vois, là-bas, les champs de blé ? Je ne mange pas de pain. Le blé pour moi est inutile. Les champs de blé ne me rappellent rien. Et ça, c’est triste ! Mais tu as des cheveux couleur d’or. Alors ce sera merveilleux quand tu m’auras apprivoisé ! Le blé, qui est doré, me fera souvenir de toi. Et j’aimerai le bruit du vent dans le blé…

{Getting Married in B.C.} Finding an Officiant in British Columbia

Looking for an officiant for your upcoming wedding in B.C.?
You can choose from a marriage commissioner, a wedding officiant or a celebrant.

While planning our own wedding, which is taking place this August (yes the countdown is on!), my fiance and I weren’t sure how to find an officiant for our ceremony. I hope this is helpful!

In B.C., marriage commissioners are often retired people who deliver civil ceremonies.

Calligraphy & illustration Wedding Map – Georgia, USA wedding

 

I really love making maps for weddings. I “chat” with the bride & groom (usually by email), and I get to hear about all of the fantastic plans for their celebration. Sometimes I feel like I have been there myself by the time I have finished the map – I have a great imagination :)

In the last few weeks, I have “visited” so to speak: Vancouver, BC; Salt Spring Island, BC; Key West, Florida as well as Georgia, as you can see! My next “destination” ? – Jamaica!!!
